So my prediction was correct - 81,709 visitors in October. Amazing!
Well things have been going well.
I have encountered one bug right now, and that’s the new audio player. It seems no one cares too much about supporting M4A files which are the files we use in podcasts. Amongst podcasters the file format is not very rare at all, and it’s the native format Garageband spits out for podcasts. I’m trying to get a video player that will play on all of Apple’s iDevices if someone is browsing the website, but still also work for our email subscribers. So far, that’s a problem. It’s either one or the other. Well, pray that a solution is found, please.
Tonight I am working on Jonathan Urie’s Moments of Music & Inspiration podcast. It still takes me many many hours to put a month’s worth of podcasts together, but now, with the new system, they will release themselves automatically. So this means I can take the couple of days to setup a month’s worth of podcasts, but then at the time and date I scheduled them for, they will release automatically. Oh boy, this is a HUGE deal. I used to be up late every night releasing all the podcasts so that people would have them in the morning as soon as they awake so they could listen while they’re on the tube or subway or bus or bicycle, but now, it just does it while I’m snoozing. Praise the living God for that!! It doesn’t take less time, but it does mean I’m not up late at night.
You may have noticed the conference went well. We had a live stream, and now we’re releasing the podcasts one per day, using the same automated, well, semi-automated system.
Right now the Plunge! podcast is also working like this. It’s very exciting. Don’t know what Plunge! is? Subscribe now! link is on the front page.
Soon 21CR will be working the same way, and as i said, tonight I am working on Jonathan’s podcasts.
Well, please keep praying. There’s only 11 of you subscribed to get this blog update, so really, you, please pray :)
Our traffic though for this month is terrific. We may not hit the 81,000 I was expecting, maybe about 79,000, but still amazing figures!!
Grace and peace.
As you can see if you’re visiting the site, things are a bit of a mess right, but, I am making huge progress at the same time. We are so bless to now have the blog of the modern-day Martin Luther (in all the good ways) Frank Viola, renown and much-loved worship leader and composer Geoff Bullock, Hebraic understanding scholar Anthony Smith all blogging with us. On top of that, the immutable leader in revival sermons, SermonIndex, has partnered with us, and God’s iPod is their exclusive podcast provider for their upcoming Revival Conference. Everything is just happening so fast.
God’s iPod now offers the only solution for podcasting your conference that you’ll ever need. This will be a paid service, and costs will be known a few weeks after the SermonIndex Conference, so I will know exactly how much effort is involved. Each conference will have their own mini-site on God’s iPod, just as SermonIndex has now. It’s a wonderful solution that will generate far more publicity for your conference than you’d get otherwise.
Also, paid podcasting services are coming soon. This will be a solution for large or small ministries/fellowships to host their podcasts on God’s iPod. Much better than other services, in that people will actually find your podcasts.
Ok, I need to keep working, so that’s all for now.
It’s been a struggle to know what to do with God’s iPod, the hottest name in Christian podcasting. Raising funds to cover our budget has been impossible for several years, and so we’ve just seen no updates for a long time. So I am taking God’s iPod in a whole new direction. Within a few weeks we’ll be launching our podcasting and blogging service. God’s iPod has enjoyed being #1 on google for 5 years running. We’re going to capitalize on that notoriety to recreate God’s iPod as not just a place for a few podcasts, but THE destination for all the content one could ever imagine viewing on their computer or iDevice. Stay tuned, and please excuse the crazy bugs like the email blasts that you might have received. What I have planned will hopefully be a blessing to you and the Body. Israel Anderson.
Had a challenging few months, that’s for sure. I moved my entire diet over to a 95% raw foods diet, am now eating some powerful foods, and rebuilding what was clearly a weakened immune response that lead to 3 flus, one just killer, and one other throat thingy – hard to explain. Not sure how that happened – my diet was already excellent. Anyway, feeling great, and losing the 20 odd lbs I picked up over the years :) Put some road tires on my mountain bike, and yes it now looks very odd :) With the warmer weather I am riding as much as possible. Thank you all for your prayers, they mean a lot.
Yeshua’s Zoe is right on track. It has taken many twists and turn that have allowed me to see so clearly how God is able to use the trials we go through for good. What started out as just a video series will now be a book and small-group resources as well. And the way I am writing it and will be presenting it has changed too, from being just a factual thing, to being more about unraveling the narrative of the life of Jesus.
In doing this massive project, it’s wiped out my savings, completely, as I am spending so much time just studying, reading, writing, etc., that my income has dropped to actually zero this month. That’s not happened before. If you believe in what I’m doing, consider supporting me. All donations are tax deductible in the US. If you can’t give of your finances, please pray that the Lord would bless me with work, or people that will step up and support me as I put together and release this enormous project that will tell many about the real Jesus. Appreciate it. Click here if you want to know more about supporting me.
I am about to finalize the first chapter, and this will be sent out to 6 people that are vetting all my work. While they vet it, I will be writing the next chapter. I then receive their feedback, make changes if needed, and record the video for that chapter. The video is then edited, made to look nice with images and other video added. The video is then bundled with the chapter which is still considered a rough draft at this point, some questions added for small-group use, and that is then made available for $1.99 a week before the video hits the web at large. And this process will continue for about 2 years. So, come partner with me if you feel you can get behind this with me. I don’t really expect to make any money of the sales of the videos when I am putting them online for free as well. Most will just wait a week for the free one.
The first video will be released on the web Mid-May.
Chen and shalom to you all
We have our very first VIDEO podcast as of today. And it’s actually created by yours truly! I am doing a teaching series that will journey through the life of Yeshua (Jesus) from a historical and cultural perspective. The intro video is up now. Subscribe in iTunes and you can sync it to your iPhone and iPod Touch. I hope you’ll like it, and tell your friends about it.
